COME DANCE WITH ME...
Dementia Friendly Creative Dance Classes created and led by Tiina Alinen and in association with Alzheimers Australia (Qld). This program is inspired by Christine Bryden and supported by founding member Beverley Giles.
The Come Dance With Me program has been designed collaboratively with people with dementia, to make it truly dementia friendly. It offers creative dance, based on non-verbal conversation through movement, and includes socialisation as well as moderate physical exercise. The 2 hour class includes a 1/2 hour break for refreshment, cooling down, and socialisation. We aim for a class size of 6 people with dementia and 6 supporters, with volunteers at hand to offer assistance if needed.
A new block of six classes begins Tuesday 7th April 2015 from 10.30 am - 12.30 pm at the Woolloongabba Hall, 22 Qualtrough Street Woolloongabba. The classes are free and all are welcome.
